If your day-by-day involves cross-border transactions of goods and services between two or more countries you are an international peson like me.
So, you probably face one of these two feelings: excitement or fear! It is rare to be indifferent.
Yes, think about your first time business contact outside of your country.
You probably got very excited saying marvelous things about what you saw or you were scared about things that you did not understand.
To Make business globally it is always an adventure such as in the time of the discovery new continents. The big difference is that today we discover laws that allow us to have presence in a foreign country following specific procedures.
Currently, the simple fact of studying the laws of a country - in particular its constitution - allows to know if a country is conservative or neo liberal, for instance.
Hence, when dealing internationally, usually I ask my clients what are their feelings:
Are you getting excited with the chances to make money?
Are you visualizing your business growing fast?
Is your brand more poweful after your entry in this country?
Are you frustrate with the delay and results that you got until now?
Are you seeing only bureaucracy and difficulties around?
When you talk about your business abroad do you talk more about good things or just about losses, bureaucracy and damages?
Answering these questions can help you to review your regulatory strategies as well as your future decision in order to get better results when dealing internationally. Sometimes the reason of your difficulty is because there is a missing piece in your strategy that was not seen before.
